5 Reasons to Bake with Protein Powder

WHY YOU SHOULD START ADDING PROTEIN POWDER TO YOUR BAKED GOODS

If you love baking or cooking, you'll want to keep on reading. In this article, we tell you 5 reasons why adding protein powder to your recipes will change the game for you... And if you're already doing it, this will make you fall in love with the process all over again, and maybe even teach you some new benefits!

1. Makes sweet snacks healthier, more nutritious and more filling

Adding a good quality protein powder to your baked goods is a great way to make them better for your health. In fact, the nutritional value of the protein powder allows your usual sweet snacks to taste just as good (or even better!), whilst also to be more nutritious and to leave you more satisfied.

2. Makes recipes taste better without extra sweetener

A flavourful protein powder is one of the best ways to make recipes taste good and sweet without needing to add some sweetener to them. Let the taste of the protein powder itself make your recipes delightful while being able to lower the sugar content.

3. Large variety of flavours to try

Feeling for a change to your usual go-to muffin recipe? Try using a new flavour of protein powder! Our large variety of flavours allow you to modify your favourite recipes without having to change any other ingredient. If you're used to our Smooth Vanilla protein, why not try our Chocolate Whipped Caramel flavour? Let your imagination go with this one, and don't be afraid to try new flavours!

Some flavours also pair better with some recipes than others. Are you baking brownies? Use our Double Chocolate flavour for an authentic taste, or use our Choco Ferrerolicious, Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup, Chocolate Whipped Caramel or Coffee Chocolate Crisp for a fun, original taste! Are you making pancakes? Use our Smooth Vanilla for classic pancakes or try our Maple Brown Sugar flavour for a fun alternative. Even Cookies N' Cream would be a fun option!

4. Very versatile

Protein powder can be used in pretty much any recipe ; use your imagination! You can use it as a replacement for flour (quantity adjustments might be necessary) in baked recipe, or simply used as a flavour + protein enhancer.

It is also possible to add protein powder to no-bake recipes, such as fudge, homemade protein bars, yoghurt barks, homemade ice cream, and so on. Feel free to add it to your usual snacks and breakfasts too! Protein powder pairs amazingly with oatmeal, yoghurt and smoothies.

5. Makes it easier to reach your daily protein goal

We can't lie here : sometimes, when trying to eat enough protein, a cookie sounds wayyy more appealing than some chicken. This is why aving fun alternatives to your diet is a great way to enjoy the process while getting closer to your goals everyday. Find recipes you enjoy and that work for you, and never feel restricted again!

Overview

We strongly encourage you to give protein baked goods a try. Wether you go to the gym or not, it is such a great way to enhance your recipes, both on the taste and nutritional side.

Here are some of our tips/notes :
  • Try replacing half the flour with protein powder. Quantities may vary, but adjust yourself depending on the consistency and texture or your recipe.
  • Whey protein powder might work better than Isolate for most baking recipes. The texture of Whey is a bit thicker and more similar to flour than Isolate. However, Isolate protein works well too!
